AMC to check water loss across city

Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) will install a system, Supervisory, Control and Data Access System (Scada), which will enable to track water loss across the city. The system to be installed in its pumping stations will help the civic body minimize non-revenue water losses by tracking of the water used and lost. It will precisely tell the exact amount of water being supplied to each home in a particular area. The Scada system improves the efficiency of the pumps by suggesting rectifications and replacements that are required, and also helps to conduct energy audit of its pumping stations.

BMC to map eco-sensitive spots

The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) is planning to map the city’s shoreline and water bodies with the help of satellite imaging through remote sensing technology. The BMC has initiated the process of mapping ecologically sensitive spots including, mangroves, beaches, koliwadas, etc. in Mumbai, which are protected under the CRZ notification.
